April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway!

Good morning! We're back with even more festive fiesta inspiration for you to get you ready for the release of our April My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, April 2nd at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Don’t forget to comment on each and every countdown post as we’ll be giving away a kit on Monday morning, before the kit launches! Here's Emily with a project using the main kit:

Hi there! Emily here with you this morning to show how versatile the images in the main kit are!! I'm not normally one for scene building, but I just couldn't resist the sweet little mouse mariachi band member and the beautiful dancing mouse senorita. Plus, the large stamp set in the main kit gives you so very many images to work with that building a scene is quite simple!

To start, I did a little creative masking. I stamped several of the images onto some masking paper, then fussy cut them out and used them to create my scene. I stamped the images onto watercolor paper using Intense Black ink, because I knew that I wanted to use the Liquid Watercolors to color my project.

After I had finished masking and stamping my festive fiesta scene, it was time to start watercoloring. I made use of all of the Liquid Watercolors, mainly using Strawberry, Dandelion, Moss, Black, and the new Purple being released as an add-on with this month's kit! I used black embossing powder to add the greeting from the main stamp set in the bottom corner.

So sweet, right? All of that masking was totally worth it.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all the countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, April 2nd, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Well, that's all for me today! I hope you're enjoying the countdown festivities. We sure are excited to bring you lots of inspiration to help you have your own fiesta in your craft room! Have a marvelous day!
