June My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway

Welcome back to the countdown to the release of the June My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is coming up on Monday, June 8 at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. Now let's join Channin, who is sharing another look at the kit!

Hello friends! It's Channin here with a new card featuring the incredible June 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit. This is kit is so gorgeous and the dies are so cleverly designed that they allow you to create several different scenes. For today’s card I decided to make and lighthouse and seaside scene.

To create this card I first stamped the bold stamp onto a 4 1/4” x 4 1/4” panel of Dove White cardstock in Soft Pool ink for the sky and Aquatic ink for the water. I then die cut the lighthouse out of Pitch Black cardstock three times and adhered all the layers together to create a dimensional die cut.

Next, I created an elongated triangular mask out of a large post-it note and placed it onto the panel with the narrowest side where I wanted the lighthouse to be. I then masked the water with painters tape and then ink blended the sky with Soft Pool, Summer Sky, and Indigo ink. Next, I removed the post-it note mask, masked off the sky around the light ray with painters tape and then ink blended Lemon Drop and Creamsicle Reactive inks.

I then removed the painters tape, taped off the sky adjacent to the water and ink blended the water with Aquatic. Next, I stamped a sentiment in INTENS-ified Black Ink. I then adhered the lighthouse onto the panel and trimmed off the excess with scissors. Next, I adhered the panel onto an 4 1/2” x 4 1/4” panel of white cardstock to create a 1/4” border at the bottom of the panel. Lastly, I finished the card by adhering the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base made from Mustard cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed my card! Thank you so much for stopping by!
