April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #2 +Giveaway

It's time for our second countdown peek! The April My Monthly Hero kit will be available on Monday, April 1 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Now let’s join Emily, who is sharing another look at this wonderful kit!

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today to share some more inspiration using this absolutely stunning Mediterranean-inspired kit! The beautifully intricate dies are the stars of this kit, helping you to create gorgeous Venetian and Mediterranean landscapes with just a few swipes of your die cutting machine. The kit also includes a lovely calligraphic sentiment set, filled with beautiful Italian and English greetings. Such a unique addition to your craft room! Let's get started with my romantic and vibrant sunset card.

I began by die cutting some of the main dies included in the kit from Pitch Black card stock. I wanted to invoke a beautiful Venetian sunset, with the buildings silhouetted against a vibrant sky. I also die cut the water, backing it with some beautiful fuchsia glitter paper as a reflection of the bright sunset sky, as well as to add extra texture and color contrast. I blended Grape Juice, Ultra Pink, and Dark Quartz inks on an A2 card base using blending brushes. I am absolutely loving that bright, saturated color combination! So pretty.

After I'd completed my ink blending, I adhered the water die cut at the bottom of the card front using dimensional foam adhesive, then adhered the buildings using Precision Glue. I added a simple stamped sentiment (from the 4x6 stamp set included in the kit) in the center of the card front using Intense Black ink. This sentiment would be perfect for a retirement card, a simple hello, or maybe even a shower/wedding card! So many beautiful and very functional sentiments included with this kit, not to mention stunningly detailed dies!

Well, that's all for me today! Now, for some fun giveaway information:

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, April 1, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific.
