Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card

Hi there crafty friends! I’m Rebecca Keppel. Today I am sharing a step by step tutorial of how I made a floral card with the Lisa Horton Wildflowers collection. Start by creating the background of the card. Use Best Ever Craft Tape to tape the corners of a piece of A2 BetterPress cardstock onto the clear plate of the BetterPress. Place the Script Text BetterPress Plate on the magnetic platform and swipe Tuscan BetterPress Ink on the plate to ink it up. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Place the clear plate on top of the magnetic platform and run it through a die-cut machine. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Tape the scalloped oval from the Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals Etched Dies on top of the script background and run through the die-cut machine. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Use one of the smaller ovals from the same die set and die cut a piece of Vellum Sheets from the Card Shoppe Essentials Collection. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Then use multiple colors of cardstock to die-cut the Layered Wildflowers Etched Dies. You will have multiple stems, multiple layers for three different flowers and leaves. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Add small amounts of liquid glue to adhere the various layers of flowers together. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Add a bit of liquid glue to the top of the stems. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Place the flowers on top of the stems and add the leaves on the stems and set aside to dry. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 To create the sentiments for the card, stamp the Sending Smiles Sentiments Clear Stamp with black ink. This stamp has several sentiments on one stamp. Then cut out with the die included in the set. Again, this is one die that individually cuts out multiple sentiment strips making it easy to create several sentiments at once. Tip: I like to save the extra sentiments organized with the stamp and die so that I can use them on future products. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Then use the sending dies from the Sending Smiles Sentiments Clear Stamp & Die Set. The dies include the word die, shadow and slightly larger shadow. This means you can layer three colors of cardstock to layer your sentiment. Here I cut the word die out of Gold Mirror Cardstock. For the first shadow, I cut white cardstock. Then I cut the second shadow out of vellum. Layer them on top of each other with liquid glue. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Next, place small foam squares on the back of the die-cut flowers and adhere them to the vellum oval. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Sometimes, it is actually easier to place foam squares on the base (the vellum oval here) rather than on the back of the sending die cut. This way you can just line up the sending die cut and be sure to have it stuck to both foam squares. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Use Spellbinders Tape Runner to adhere the BetterPress background to and an A2 (4.25x5.5”) Tuscan cardstock. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Flip over the vellum and add liquid adhesive to the backs of the die cuts that you can see through the vellum. This way, you won’t see the liquid adhesive from the front of the vellum. Combine BetterPress, Die Cutting and Stamping on One Simple Card, BP-287, S4-1431, S4-1430, SDS-202 Place the vellum down on top of the BetterPress background. Add a small bow die cut from the Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals Etched Dies on top of the stems. Now you have a floral card with lots of interest including BetterPress, die cutting and stamping! I hope you can see how easy and fun it is to combine these multiple techniques on one card!
