New 3D Embossing Folders with Bibi Cameron

Hello from Scotland, this is Bibi Cameron and I’m very happy to be able to share ideas using some of the new tridimensional embossing folders by Spellbinders. For today, I made three easy projects to feature three different embossing folders: These beautiful embossing folders are super versatile. They measure 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” inches so this will allow you to emboss any size panel for cards, boxes or any 3D project. To work with any of the 3D embossing folders, I also tried the new Spellbinders Universal Plate System. I love the extended platform and the clever system.

You will only need the platform base and the adapter plate to emboss the paper with any of these 3D embossing folders.

Tile Mosaic Butterfly Card

To make this C6 card, I first embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Tile Mosaic 3D Embossing Folder. Then, I die-cut the florals and leaves out of white cardstock using the new Wreath Builder Etched Dies. The butterfly's intricate detail was die-cut out of Brushed Gold Cardstock using the largest butterfly dies from the Delicate Butterflies die set. The backing panel of the butterfly was die cut out of white cardstock.

As I love the soft look of the ink blending over white die-cuts, I simply applied pink, orange, and yellow inks using blending brushes over them to add color. I glued the embossed panel to a backing panel made out of Lunar Gray cardstock and then I glued him into a C6 Top Fold card base. Next, I glued all the elements over the front panel as shown in the picture.

I added a gold foiled banner made using one of the plates from the new Birthday Unboxing Glimmer plates and Polished Brass Hot Foil. To embellish I used Crystal Mix Gems.

Beveled Diamonds Flamingo Card

For the background of this C6 card ( 4-1/“ x 5-1-/2 inches), I used the Beveled Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. Using dies from the new Wreath Builder die set (flowers and leaves) and Plant it Here die set (flamingo), I die-cut white cardstock to then add color using inks and blending brushes.

I also die-cut the center of the flowers out of gold brushed cardstock to add interest and I added a gold hot foiled banner made using a plate from the new Birthday Unboxing Glimmer plates set.

To add sparkle I used Crystal Mix Gems.

Beautiful Blooms Butterfly Card

I used the new Beautiful Blooms 3D Embossing Folder to make the background panel of this slimline card ( 3-3/4” x 8-1-2”). To decorate, I also die-cut butterflies, flowers and leaves, out of Brushed Gold and white cardstock using the Delicate Butterflies die set and the new Wreath Builder die set.

I applied pink, orange, and yellow inks over the white cardstock die-cuts and I glued gold pieces over to add interest. The banner was also gold hot foiled on black using a plate from the new Birthday Unboxing Glimmer plates set.

Hello Gloria,

Our Color Essentials cardstock works beautifully with our 3D folders – https://spellbinders.life/collections/paper-products
Some papers/colors might crack, to prevent it from happening we recommend lightly misting paper with water before putting it inside the embossing folder.

Yana Smakula,

I am wondering what paper do you recommend for the 3D -Embossing , weight, brand . Thank you appreciate your answer
