Postage Edge Shapes Collection – Card Inspiration with Annie Williams

Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Postage Edge Shapes Collection by Becca Feeken.  These beautiful new border patterns in every shape I could want inspired me to create three soft and pretty cards for different occasions.

Winter Wishes Card

With the holiday card season approaching, I wanted to start by creating a fun postage stamp-inspired project.  Here I combined an icy color palette and simple white die-cuts for this sweet winter card.

• Die cut white cardstock four times using the smallest postage edge die from the Postage Edge Squares Die Set.
• Using the die as a stencil to mask off the edges, blend Salty Ocean, Salvaged Patina, Kitsch Flamingo, and Shaded Lilac Distress Ink onto the center of each die cut with a sponge dauber.
• Stamp a greeting from the Seasonal Motif Sentiments Stamp Set onto one of the “stamps” using teal ink.
• Die cut white cardstock and White Glitter Foam Sheets using the snowflake and cabin dies from the Winter Label Motifs Die Set and the poinsettia die from the Holiday Label Motifs Die Set. Assemble and add to each “stamp” with liquid glue.

• Score and fold white cardstock and cut it using the largest die from the Postage Edges Squares Die Set, allowing the die to hang off over the scored edge slightly. After a few passes through your diecutting machine, you will have a shaped card base.
• Die cut Lilac Blossom Cardstock using the largest perforated square die from the Postage Edge Squares Die Set, mat with Mirror Silver Cardstock, and adhere to the shaped card base with foam adhesive.
• Pop the four stamp designs up on top of the card front with foam adhesive.

Slimline Valentine’s Day Card

I love when Becca designs new slimline die sets, especially when you can combine them with some of her previous designs!  Here I cut tons of layers for a soft and sweet slimline Valentine.

• Die cut Mirror Gold, white, and Pink Sand Cardstock using the postage edge square 1, perforated edge square 2, and postage edge square 3 dies from the Postage Edges Slimlines Die Set.
• Trim pieces of white and Pink Sand Cardstock to 3.25” x 8.25” and 3.5” x 8.5”, respectively.
• Die-cut white cardstock using the panel outline and insert dies from the Thank You For Your Kindness Die Set and adhere the layers together with liquid glue.

• Adhere the layers of the card onto a top-folding white card base measuring 3.5” x 8.5”, alternating foam adhesive, and tape runner for lots of dimensions.
• Die cut Mirror Gold Cardstock using the sentiment dies from the Merry Everything Words Die Set and adhere to the card front with liquid glue.
• Die cut Pink Sand Cardstock using the flower dies from the My Sweet Friend Die Set, adhere to the card front, and add Gold Mix Gems to embellish.

Springtime Love Card

Lastly, I wanted to combine a couple of different postage edge shapes for an easy springtime love card.

• Score and fold white cardstock and cut it using the largest die from the Postage Edges Rectangles Die Set, allowing the die to hang off over the scored edge slightly, running it through your diecutting machine a couple of times to yield a shaped card base.
• Die cut Pink Sand Cardstock using the largest perforated edge die from the set, emboss the panel using the Loops Embossing Folder, and adhere it to the card base with a tape runner.
• Die cut white cardstock using the largest perforated edge die from the Postage Edges Ovals Die Set and adhere it to the card front with foam adhesive.

• Die cut Mirror Silver, Teal Topaz, and Waterfall Cardstock using the butterfly from the Summer Label Motifs Die Set and the leafy sprigs from the Spring Label Motifs Die Set.
• Die-cut Pink Sand and Fruit Punch Cardstock using the flower from the My Sweet Friend Die Set.
• Die-cut Mirror Silver Cardstock using the sentiment dies from the Half Slimline Bracket Die Set.
• Adhere the flowers, butterfly, and sentiment to the card front with liquid glue and foam adhesive, and add Opal Color Essentials Gems to embellish.

Other supplies
