Simple and Sweet Love Cards with the House Mouse Winter Collection

Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of sweet love cards made with the new House Mouse Winter Collection.  With such detailed and adorable images in this collection, you can keep the other elements of your card pretty simple and still create eye-catching projects!

I started by stamping the image and one of the sentiments from the Snuggle Up Stamp Set onto white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink.  After coloring the image with Copic markers, I fussy-cut it out with scissors and trimmed the sentiment out into a strip.

To create the background, I trimmed a piece of Glacier Cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5” and blended Salty Ocean Distress Ink around the edges before embossing it with the Sparkling Snow 3D Embossing Folder.  Then I lightly rubbed a white pigment ink pad over the raised areas to bring the snowflakes out more and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.  The image and sentiment were popped up on top of the card front with foam adhesive to complete the card.

Next, I reached for the adorable image from the We Heart You Stamp Set.  After stamping it out on white cardstock, I colored it with Copic markers, adding a faint blue shadow around the images with my markers at the end for some atmosphere.  The colored panel was trimmed to about 4.5” x 3.25” and matted with Mirror Gold Cardstock.

This time I embossed a piece of Fruit Punch Cardstock using the Dazzling Dots Embossing Folder for the background, popping the colored panel up in the middle of the card front with foam adhesive.  To finish off the card, I applied Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Mini Sincere Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set, cut it out with the coordinating die, and popped it up in the bottom corner with foam adhesive.

Lastly, the little guy in the Candy Hearts Stamp Set reminded me a bit of myself whenever I bring home a little bag of those treats at Valentine’s Day, so I colored him up with Copic markers next and fussy-cut him out.  I also stamped a sentiment from the set onto white cardstock and trimmed it out into a little strip.

To create the background, I applied Opaque White Hot Foil to Pink Sand Cardstock using the Geometric Optical Background Glimmer Plate and trimmed it down to 4” x 5.25”.  After mounting it on a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive, I popped the image and sentiment up on top with more foam adhesive to finish off the card.
