A Blog Named Hero - Anniversary!

Today's post introduces the latest challenge from our friends over at A Blog Named Hero. We are so thankful for the support they give us, and the beautiful creations the team creates. Hi crafty friends. I’m so excited to be here to introduce our challenge over at A Blog Named Hero which is an Anniversary theme. It’s incredible that the first challenge at A Blog Named Hero started 9 years ago this month.

I love to receive flowers on my anniversary so what better way then to design a card with a bouquet of flowers.

To create the background I wanted a subtle pattern so started by embossing the Stained Glass Window Stencil onto Dove White cardstock. For this technique you will require a rubber mat for use with a die cut machine. I lay the rubber mat first, the cardstock on top of that, the stencil and cutting plate on top. Run it through a die cut machine and it will emboss your stencil pattern onto the cardstock.

The floral bouquet wrapper from Bouquet Accessories Fancy Dies was die cut from vellum patterned paper.

The flowers and leaves from the Bouquet Accessories Fancy Dies set were die cut from Dove White cardstock and colored with Copic markers. The colors for the flowers I used are E18, R43, R46, YR12, RV69, RV09, R20, and for the leaves I used G07 and YG13.

I glued my embossed panel onto a Side Folded Card. Before adhering the floral wrapper onto the stenciled panel I tied a bow with twine around the wrapper. I then arranged the flowers and leaves into the floral wrapper. For an added embellishment I attached a heart die cut from glitter cardstock onto the bow.

The sentiment from Hero Florals Lavender Bunch was stamped on Pitch Black cardstock with Clear Embossing and Watermark Ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and adhered with foam adhesive.

I finished off my card by adding white liquid pearls and Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen drops to the flowers and leaves for ‘dew drops’.
