Today we're delighted to have Debi Adams here to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons.

Well hello everyone! I’m Debi Adams and I’m excited to be working with Hero Art’s August theme of “Color Your World with Friendship”, certainly a welcome addition to all of Hero’s amazing designs. Love the concept that we can create cards that encourage new friendships of all backgrounds, colors and lifestyles as well as support and encourage existing ones. These two cards do exactly that. Both are quick and easy!

This first bright and colorful card uses the new Rays of Color Window Fancy Die as well as the existing New Day Butterflies stamp set and Frame Cuts. I first used the Fancy Die to cut the Dove White cardstock frame and attached it to a Dove White Top Folded Card. I then die-cut all of the various cardstock colors. What’s really nice about making this card is that the many colors of cardstock that were cut using the Fancy Die can make up to 13 cards with the remaining pieces! I adhered each color in place, stamped, cut, colored and attached the butterflies and attached a white embossed sentiment onto the front. Done!

For my second card I stamped the Floral Color Wheel Bold Prints stamp onto a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” Dove White cardstock base using the MISTI Tool and Taffy, Creamsicle, Pool Party, Lemon Drop and Key Lime Fizz Reactive Inks. I inked up a piece of the same sized Dove White cardstock with the same Reactive Inks using blending brushes and lightly misted it with water. Once dry, I embossed the design using white embossing powder and embossing ink using the Bold Prints stamp. I trimmed it down to fit inside the existing pre-stamped card base, stamped a sentiment from the Paper Hugs Stamp & Cut set and adhered them all to a top-folded Dove White card base.

So enjoyed making both of these cards. Wanting to get these out to some new friends I met this last weekend. What are you working on? Hope these designs inspire you to make and send to friends.

XO,
