Hello and happy Wednesday, stampers! It’s time for another Awesome Add-ons feature. Before we dive into the projects, here’s a look at all of the add-on products introduced this month. From tribal patterns and tents to wild animals and sunsets, there are many fun and creative options for you!

Today our Creative Team is going to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons, starting with a terrific stamp pairing by Amy.
Amy: Although I really love the safari theme for June’s My Monthly Hero collection, I wanted to stretch my supplies and was inspired by the Mud Cloth Bold Prints.
It reminded me of Hawaiian Tapa print shirts so I teamed it up with the Destination Hawaii stamp! My card base is a panel from the Foliage Mix Layering Papers. The Mud Cloth Bold Prints was heat embossed in white.
The Destination Hawaii has also been heat embossed in white on watercoloring paper. It was quickly watercolored in blue. I used the Nesting Postage Stamps Infinity Dies on a Snow Layering Paper layer. Using the Rectangle Infinity Dies made it super easy to cut the Hawaii panel to fit perfectly into the Postage Stamps Infinity cut.
Next up, Jayne is having fun with a new stencil and creating some amazing geometric backgrounds in the process!
Jayne: I’m a huge fan of using stencils to create beautiful backgrounds on cards so I was very excited when I saw the new Tribal Shapes stencil in this month’s collection of add-on products! Although the stencil pattern is gorgeous, I thought it would be fun to create my own background patterns by selectively inking only portions of the stencil. It’s a fun way to “stretch your stencils”.
After choosing five ink colors that I love – Stone Wash, Dusty Blue, Butter Bar, Soft Cantaloupe, and Pale Tomato, I used removable paper tape to isolate individual rows of selected shapes on the stencil, covering all of the other open spaces in the stencil with the tape. For my first card, I stenciled seven, colorful rows of triangles across a trimmed panel of white layering paper.
I embossed a wonderful sentiment from the new Color Layering Bengal Tigers set onto a navy cardstock cloud that I cut with the Nesting Clouds Infinity Dies. Similarly, I cut a larger cloud from vellum and a pair of smaller clouds from daffodil cardstock, layering the four clouds together and then securing them to the card with foam tape.
On my second card, I used the Tribal Shapes stencil and paper masking tape to selectively stencil horizontal rows of “dots and dashes” across white cardstock. Because the stencil design is very linear, it’s extremely easy to mask portions of this stencil to create custom backgrounds and the pattern possibilities seem infinite! You could also use this stencil to very quickly ink geometric borders along a card’s edge.
I finished both cards with a trio of tiny butterflies from the Color Layering Bengal Tigers set. After inking pieces of white layering paper with a few of my ink colors, I embossed six butterflies and then used the coordinating Color Layering Tiger Frame Cuts to easily cut around each image. Sometimes it’s the smallest stamps that make the most delightful finishing details!
