Cards for Kids

I always feel a little guilty when it comes to kids cards, because honestly, the little kids in my life (my nieces and nephews) are too young to really care about a card, but I mean, I’m a cardmaker! It’s pretty much a requirement that I give them a card for the appropriate occasions!

When I was flipping through my stamp sets, I found the perfect solution – the Mix and Match Monsters stamp set. To satisfy both parties, I decided to use this set to create a colorable card for my nieces and nephews. I let them pick the colors – blue (Deep Ocean) for my nephew, purples – or, as they say, “poiple” – for both nieces, using Soft Lilac and Passion Flower.

They LOVED them! My nephew especially (the oldest of the trio) loved the faces, and said his favorite monster was the “goey ghost.”

I also made a quick coloring card for myself, using the stamp set from the December My Monthly Hero (still available!) for a bold sentiment.

I colored in my monsters with my ZIG pens, and to match the blue of the one monster, I colored a strip of cardstock using the same blue color. It’s not an even coloring, but I like the texture it gives to the card.

If you want a quicker project to make for kids, then the Nesting Monsters Fancy Dies is a great substitute. Just die cut a variety of the monsters, and let the kids take over from there! Thanks so much for stopping in and God bless!
