Creating a Background with Individual Images

Hello there, Michelle here and today I thought I would create my own background using the balloon images from the Festive Balloon set.

Festive Balloons by Michelle Short for Hero Arts

I started off by taking a 4" x 5.25" piece of Hero Hues Dove White Premium Cardstock. I prepped it with an anti-static tool and then stamped the large and small balloons from the Festive Balloon set on top using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I tried to create a random pattern with them, like you would get with the Bold Prints background stamps. You could definitely go to town with the balloons and add a lot more than I did.

I then took Reactive Inks and blended these on to the panel using blending brushes. I used Taffy, Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, Green Apple, Splash and Grape Slush. I tried to keep colours that blend well together next to each other and those that don't, further apart. I took a dry cloth and removed any excess ink that was on top of the embossing. I then splattered on some water with a paint brush. Let it sit for about a minute and then dabbed up any excess with a cloth.

Once the panel was dry, it was adhered to a top folding card base with foam tape. I then cut the happy die from the Happy Stamp & Cut set three times from Hero Hues Pitch Black Premium Cardstock. They were layered up one on top of another and adhered with Precision Glue. It was then added to the card with more Precision Glue. I took the sentiment from the Blessings Stamp & Cut stamp set and stamped it on to more Pitch Black Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added below the happy.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day!
