Creating Bold Statements

Hiya and welcome to the Hero Arts blog! You guys, did you see this month's My Monthly Hero Kit? It is awesome! Welcome to the jungle, we've got fun and games.... I can't help it! This song is on repeat in my head. I know, I know, I'm dating myself, but I'm okay with that! Today's project features two of the amazing add-ons, Leafy Bold Prints and Tropical Flowers.

Create this quick and simple, but bold card by stamping Leafy Bold Prints in Black Dye ink on Dove White card stock. Stamp two to three times with a MISTI for a crisp, solid impression. Anytime an image needs an extra layer of ink, be sure to let the prior layer dry. Saturating paper with wet ink layer on wet ink layer on wet ink layer is a sure way to cause the image to bleed slightly and blur.

But, those extra layers of color is a great way to achieve a strong, bold, crisp image with minimal labor. Add a few bright accent colors and we've got an eye catcher!

Stamp Tropical Flowers in Intense Black ink and color with Copic markers. I used R39, R37, R35, R22, YR24, Y18 and Y06 for the flower. G09, YG17, YG23 and YG01 for the leaves. Die cut images.

Trim black and white Leafy Bold Print piece to 4 1/4" x 3 3/4". Adhere a thin Pitch black strip to back, slightly peeking over the top of print. Adhere set flat to A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") Dove White panel. Pop flowers with dimensional adhesive and then stamp sentiment in Black dye ink. Adhere finished panel to a folded card base.

You learn to live like an animal in the jungle where we play... can't. stop. singing!

Remember 10% of the net profits from this month's jungle themed My Monthly Hero Kit benefit the jungle habitat preservation through the World Wildlife Fund! Rawr!

Thank you for spending a few minutes with me today and I'll see you again soon!
