Fast and Easy Spring Background

Hello Crafters! It's Kelly Taylor here to share a fast and easy Spring background with you. Anyone else ready for warm weather and pretty blooms?

The Flowers and Bees Bold Prints was originally released as part of the April 2022 My Monthly Hero Kit along with the Color Layering Rose Stencil, the Amazing Fancy Die, and the Thank You for Everything stamp set. It won our favorite kit poll back in the Fall, which means these products have been rereleased and are available as part of our Spring Catalog collection!

I used both the Flowers and Bees Bold Prints and the Color Layering Rose Stencil to create my background. I started by stamping the background using Intens-ified Black ink onto some Dove White cardstock and then used Blending Brushes to apply some Mist Core ink to the edges of the background.

I then used all three of the stencils to add color to my stamped image. The flowers were done in Cotton Candy, Azalea, and Raspberry Jam Core ink. I used a complementary yellow-green for the leaves with Kiwi and Fresh Lawn Core ink. On a separate piece of Dove White cardstock, I stamped one of the birds from the Finch Greetings Bundle. This set has holiday sentiments but who says we can't use these cuties for Spring too?

I colored up the finch with some alcohol markers. I also added some yellow to the flower centers and bees in my background. After the coloring was finished I started die cutting. I used the Rounded Rectangles Infinity Dies to cut my background as well as a frame from more Dove White cardstock. The sentiment was heat embossed using Unicorn Pigment Ink and White Detail Embossing Powder on Pitch Black cardstock. I adhered everything to a Dove White card base using Precision Glue.

I hope this puts you in the mood for Spring or at least makes the wait a little more bearable!
