February My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome back to the countdown! The February My Monthly Hero Kit releases on Monday, February 3 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Our Creative Team will be here throughout the weekend sharing peeks. Now let's join Channin for another look at this pretty and versatile kit!

Hello friends! Welcome to today’s countdown to the next My Monthly Hero kit!! I’m so excited about this month’s theme!! I feel like I’m always in need of birthday cards and this kit makes boosting my stash quick and easy. Also I’m blown with the kit’s versatility! I was able to create several different cards with looks ranging from classy to fun and I can’t wait to share them all with you very soon!!

First, I die cut the cake out of Dove White and Peony cardstock. I then fussy cut the pink cake away from its stand and the candles from the white cake. I then adhered the pink cake onto the white and then the white candles on top of the pink. Next, I Copic colored the diecuts (cake: R00 R20, R32, R22; platter/candles: BG10 & G00; flames: Y00 & YR04).

Once I finished the cake I moved onto my background. First, I stamped the sentiment in Cotton Candy ink onto the front of an A2 top-folding Dove White card base. I then stamped the sentiment once more but this time in embossing ink and then heat embossed it in clear. Next I stamped the large background stamp included in the kit in Soft Pool ink onto the card front. Because I clear embossed the sentiment, it remained pink and visible even though I stamped the background directly on top of it.

I then wiped off any residual ink from the sentiment with a paper towel and finished my card by adhering the cake with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed my card! Thank so much for stopping by!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, February 3, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific.
