Fresh Take: Halloween Terrarium

Welcome to Fresh Take—an inspirational series where we mix the best of both worlds: fresh new products and well-loved favorites! Each month, we’ll share inspiring ideas that pair new Hero Arts releases with older products you may already have in your stash.

It’s all about breathing new life into your collection—showing how creativity can unlock fresh possibilities. Whether you're looking to stretch your supplies or rediscover a past favorite, Fresh Take is here to spark your next crafty idea.

This month, we’re conjuring up a little Halloween magic with a whimsical terrarium card that blends playful charm with spooky elegance. Adorable ghosts, fluttering bats, and a sparkling spiderweb create this layered scene full of personality.

The foundation of this card begins with the Color Layering Scattered Star Stencil, which creates a dreamy purple night sky filled with twinkling stars. The festive “’tis the season to be spooky” sentiment comes from the Spooky Season Letterpress + Foil & Die set, bringing bold impact to the center of the scene. Floating playfully across the card are the cheerful ghosts from the Boo to You Dies, adding a touch of cuteness.

To round out the design, we reached into the stash for two classic favorites. The April Card Kit of the Month provides the perfect frame with the terrarium die. And the Haunted Romance Fancy Dies supply the finishing touches of bats and a delicate spiderweb to add depth and shine.

By blending these new products with tried-and-true favorites, this project becomes a perfect example of how mixing elements from across your collection can breathe new life into your cardmaking.
