Pop Up Gift Card Holder

My go-to gift for my kids' teachers are gift cards! After several years of stressing over what to get the person that spends just as much of their day with my kid as I do, I finally decided to let it go. With a gift card they can pick out whatever they want! Since a gift card isn't the most personal gift, I decided this year I am going to make them a little more fun with an interactive pop up card.

Here is visual of how the card is assembled:

1. Begin with a 4.25"x11" piece of cardstock. Score lines at 4.25", 5.5" and 6.75".
2. Fold the center score line first and then the two outer score lines will be folded the opposite way.
3. Place strong adhesive (I used 1/8" wide Be Creative double sided tape) on the three sides shown in the photo.
4. Fold together to form card. The 1.25" tab sticking up will be the gift card holder. It will produce a 4.25" square card base.
5. Partially die cut an oval where the gift card will slide in.
6. Photo shows card after die cutting oval.
7. Photo shows card open to reveal pop up.
8. Place gift card inside of slot.

Now that the card base is made, I moved on to the front of the card. I used the adorable Holiday Cheer stamp set to create a snowy scene. Just some simple stamping using Mint Julep, Cornflower and Orchid inks. The colors I used were actually inspired by the colors of the iTunes gift card inside the card. Inspiration is everywhere! :)

I outlined some of the elements with Ranger Diamond Stickles and popped up the panel on the front of the card base with foam adhesive. I also carried over some of the stamping to the inside of the card. The curved slot for the gift card was made using the Nesting Oval Infinity Dies.

I love this simple way of creating a gift card holder with a regular sized sheet of paper and think it will be a great option for the holidays this year.
