Hero Kids Crafty Hour: Rainbow Window Art

You've likely seen and heard about it. From coast to coast, the decorated window movement has taken off across the country as a simple way to bring hope and smiles to neighbors and community members while we all practice social distancing. Our own Creative Team members and their children have joined the movement, spreading a little joy and bright "hellos" in their own ways. Let's check in with Kelly, Libby, Kimberly and Ilina for Hero Kids Crafty Hour!

Kelly: "My daughter, Lexi, created a watercolor rainbow heart garland to hang in our window. Lexi die-cut the hearts from watercolor paper using the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies and then watercolored them on both sides. Then I sewed them together and strung them on some string. This would also be cute to save for a party decoration or a backdrop for a photoshoot against a white wall."

Libby: "Like Kelly and her daughter, my daughter also used the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies to decorate her window with a rainbow. She die cut the hearts in two sizes using colorful cardstock, and simply taped them up in rows of color. This is her bedroom window, so it brings a little joy to her from the inside, as well as cheering on any neighbor who may walk by."

Kimberly: "Our neighborhood is adding a little fun the 'hood! We are encouraging our community to go outside and share some love by having a neighborhood-wide rainbow hunt 🌈! Simply, put a rainbow in your window, on a tree, on the ground. The gals have enjoyed walking around and finding rainbows."

Ilina: "Going on week #3 of homeschooling and social distancing, all these changes and a new way of life are taking toll on my kids (5, 6 and 8). So we decided we are going to paint rainbows to put in our rooms (since we are not allowed to put anything on windows) to brighten our days. We pulled some watercolor paper, paints and brushes and poured our hearts out."

Friends, we are sending our own rainbows to each of you. Take care, spread joy, encourage connection!

Really a cute idea of cutting hearts for the windows. Great for kids.
Hero arts if my monthly hero kit doesn’t come for the month of April until for a few months , it is okay. It is better everyone stay healthy. Stay safe. Joyce from across the bay in San Francisco.

Debossed Snowflake Christmas Card Tutorial with Snowflake Background Etched Dies

Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial using the Snowflake Background Etched Dies from the Lisa Horton Snowflake Kisses Collection. The Snowflake Background Etched Dies are two layers which you can cut as a base layer and a top layer. For my card today, instead of having die cut layers, I thought that I would deboss the design.
