January My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + giveaway!

MMH Countdown to Creativity

The first My Monthly Hero kit of 2016 is quite fun. It has so many possibilities to create different cards for Valentines and beyond. One of the things I loved the most about this kit is that it has all that you need to create shaker cards:

For this card, I created a front panel from layering paper (Carnation color), which is included in the kit. I die cut a heart shaped window, and a pretty heart shaped frame too. It's easy with the dies in the kit, they next inside each other for perfect alignment.

Then, I adhered a piece of acetate behind the window with tape. After that, I die cut a rectangular panel from a foam sheet, and I die cut the heart shaped window. I adhered the piece behind the front panel. This foam piece gives the space you need to put the yummy sequins that are also included. I also die cut some tiny hearts and I stamped tiny sentiments to put them inside the shaker along with the sequins. The little heart dies are available as an add-on to this month's kit.

Next, I cut a piece of layering paper (Punch color) and I used it as the back of the shaker window. Then I adhered the whole front panel over a base card. At the end, I white embossed a long sentiment over a black cardstock strip and I adhered it onto the heart with foam tape.

This kit is very versatile. I have been having a lot of fun with it. For the chance to win this lovely kit before you can buy it, please leave a comment here on this post. One lucky winner will be randomly drawn from all the comments left on the Countdown to Creativity posts, and announced on Monday morning (Jan. 4th), before the kit goes live at noon EST. Thanks for joining me, mariana-sig

Hi Diane – Sorry, this die was part of the limited edition January 2016 kit. Kit elements are not restocked once the kit sells out. Thank you for checking!

Hero Arts,

Hi, is this heart die still available? Thx!

Debossed Snowflake Christmas Card Tutorial with Snowflake Background Etched Dies

Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial using the Snowflake Background Etched Dies from the Lisa Horton Snowflake Kisses Collection.
