Just Swinging By!

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing some cute jungle inspiration using a few of the newest add-on sets from June's My Monthly Hero release. Hero Arts has a fantastic line of cover plate dies, and it seems that we get at least one stunning new cover plate die add-on with each release. I wanted to do a little spotlight die cutting with the new Leaves and Vines cover plate (which I know is sold out at the moment... Hopefully will be restocked very soon!) and add some sweet little monkeys from the Thanks A Bunch Monkeys stamp set. Let's get started with the details!

I began by stamping the happy little monkey, some flowers, and a vine from the Thanks A Bunch Monkeys stamp set using Intense Black ink on some white cardstock. I then used my Copic markers to color the images in and die cut them using the coordinating Frame Cuts.

Once my coloring was finished, I die cut the Leaves and Vines cover plate from some Kiwi cardstock. (It cut like butter, if you were wondering. Those details came through perfectly without any of the little "hairs" hanging off the edge as I poked out the die cut pieces!) I then used a very small blending brush and some Moss Hybrid Ink to add some shadows in the center of the larger leaves on the die cut. I also used a Circle Infinity Die to cut out a little spotlight section of this super intricate die cut. I could have simply stamped the greeting on a strip of cardstock and laid it over the top, but I thought this would be a nice focal point for the card... something a little different! :)

After I'd finished my die cutting, I adhered the Leaves and Vines die cut to the white card base using liquid adhesive, then stamped the greeting from Thanks A Bunch Monkeys using Intense Black Ink directly on the card base, lining it up with the edge of the card base. I added the swinging little monkey, vine, and some flowers using foam tape for extra dimension.

Well, that's all for my project today! I hope you're having fun with the latest My Monthly Hero release... such a fun group of products!
