Magical Unicorn Card

Unicorns seem like a must have in a stamper’s stash these days, so I decided to share a quick and easy Magical Unicorn card today with you.

I pulled out my woodblock Unicorn stamp and heat embossed it in black embossing powder onto a piece of white cardstock. I thought about stamping this image in Intense Black ink instead of heat embossing, but seeing how fine and detailed the image lines were I opted for heat embossing to make sure my coloring would stay crisp and won’t go outside the image lines.

I used Copic markers to color my unicorn. The body was colored using cool grays – C7, C3 and C1 and for the mane and tail I went with light pinks – RV13 and RV10. I also used a pale yellow Y00 to color the eye.

To create a background for this card I masked a small strip on the right and bottom edges of my 4 Bar note card and blended Soft Pink ink with an ink blending tool.

Next, I stamped a “Have A Magical Day” sentiment in black ink. I created my own message by using stamps from the Unicorn Stamp & Cut set. Finally, I foam mounted my unicorn onto the card (I cut it out using scissors) and added several stamped hearts scattered in the background.
