If you think about it, the Paper Layering dies are a great use for no-line coloring techniques. There’s no stamping directly involved, and it’s easy to follow the cut lines for coloring.
For todays card, I used the adorable Paper Layering Bear with Frame for my no-line coloring.
Since I wasn’t intending to do any heavy watercoloring, I die cut the bear from regular cardstock. However, if you want to add more color or/and get a more blended look, watercolor or Bristol paper would work well.
I colored the scarf in using Evergreen Bough and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks, and colored the eyes, nose and ears with ZIG Black and Pale Pink.
I backed the scarf with some Pool layering paper, so that I could add some glitter to the hearts with Stickles.
For the background, I inked the Wave Pattern Background in Versamark, then Mint Julep, and stamped it on Mint layering paper. I added clear Sparkle embossing powder, heat set it, and adhered the bear to the cardstock on foam adhesive.
Finally, the card was topped off with a sentiment from Poster Christmas Carols, heat embossed in White, and die cut using the Circle Infinity Dies.

Very clever use of the paper layering die..Love it!!!
Hi Jackie – Paper Layering dies provide a pop-up style of cut with one pass through the die cut machine. Most Paper Layering sets also include a second frame die that will allow you to cut out the entire image with another pass through the die cut machine. That is what Clare has done here. Hope that helps!

I love this card, but don’t understand what paper layering is. Do you cut it out more than once?
