One Layer Lanterns

Hello there, Michelle here sharing a card using the Patterned Lanterns Bold Prints and Autumn Moon sets that were released yesterday as add-ons for the September 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit. I thought they would work beautifully together to create a one layer card.

I started off by taking a panel of dark blue cardstock and stamping the lanterns from the Autumn Moon set on to it with Versamark Ink. I applied Silver Embossing Powder and heat set. I then stamped the sentiment below and also heat embossed this in silver.

I made masks for the lanterns and then using the MISTI, I stamped the Patterned Lanterns Bold Prints on top. I used Versamark Ink so that it gives a nice tone-on-tone look. I set the piece aside to dry and then coloured the lanterns using Prismacolor Pencils in blue shades.

I took some silver thread and threaded this through the top of the lanterns and secured at the back with tape. The panel was then added on to an A2 card base with tape runner. This makes it still a flat one layer card, but hides the thread. A quick and easy card, but I really like the blue shades.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, happy stamping!

This card is so lovely, Michelle. The blue colors are so calming and your “glowing” lanterns so beautifully crafted. tfs
