Saturdays with Sally - It's Pumpkin Time!

If it’s time for pumpkin spice lattes, then it’s time for me to start die cutting pumpkins! It’s a lot easier than carving!!

Let’s begin with my BOO card! I stamped Halloween Scene Background Cling in Soft Granite ink on a white card. Then I die cut two pumpkins with Jack O' Lantern Fancy Dies from Pumpkin and Mustard cardstocks. I die cut out their faces with the dies included in the set, then cut another two pumpkins in Black and glued them behind so the black pops out on their faces. Glue on tiny stems cut from the brown top and add raffia if you like. I then stamped the BOO from Shadowed Letter Set in black on Papaya cardstock and hand trimmed them. The leaves are from Autumn Bouquet Fancy Dies. Mount all the pieces in a pleasing arrangement with foam tape as shown. I then mounted the card onto a black notecard.

I have been so inspired lately by the Instagram felt artist @samsidney that I HAD to die cut a pumpkin from orange felt and machine stitch it onto a little gift card. I used Pumpkin Patch Bold Prints stamped on white in Soft Granite. I love how mounting it on a notecard made from Paradise cardstock makes it pop.

And lastly, if you don’t own a pumpkin die but DO HAVE Ornaments Infinity Dies, you can make a pumpkin! Kids would love to make these with all kinds of faces. I used the dies in the set for eyes, bow and leaf. I found other cut outs on my desk for the nose and mouth! BE CREATIVE! I bet you can find other dies in your collection that would work, too! And think about hanging a string of them on a wall.

So, have fun decorating your Covid pumpkins…oh, I forgot, I was going to MASK one… OK, maybe in a few weeks when I am back!!

Sally, you always get the most from your stash – who else would use ornament toppers as eyes on a pumpkin?? They look amazing, like some mega false eyelashes there!! Darling jack o’lantern duo with the scene background and your felt jack o’lantern couldn’t be cuter!!

Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial using the Snowflake Background Etched Dies from the Lisa Horton Snowflake Kisses Collection.
