Saturdays with Sally: National Thinking of You Week!

Hi - Sally here, with my monthly feature where I get to play and share whatever I'm up to! I am so happy my blog day is before National Thinking of You Week so you can participate. For years, the Greeting Card Association has sponsored this week to get people to send cards. This year it is Sept 23-29, so let’s get out your stamps, dies and CREATE!

I have a couple simple cards to share today - quick and easy so I can get several done and let friends know I'm thinking of them.

I used one of the dies from One of a Kind Stamp & Cut to punch out lots of little slightly-misshapen circles, and stamped tiny messages from Hero Greetings Mini Messages on them. Arrange them randomly on a white card and you have a cute little greeting for any friend.

I couldn’t stop because I love making sweet tags with the cute little Tag Fancy Die. The Mini Messages as well as Hero Greetings Sending Smiles are perfect for adding small sentiments, and of course I love to embellish with hearts! These tags can be mounted on any card and you have a 2-minute card. Attach a fancy ribbon or cord for pizazz. OR, just make a bunch of them and toss in an envelope for a fun surprise!

Now you are ready to participate in National Thinking of You Week! Don’t forget to fully embellish your envelopes too… watch for ideas on that on some future Saturday.

I adore the card with all the mini messages, reminiscent of engraved pebbles. Also reminds me of the heart candies in a box that are gifted during Valentine’s. I plan to use the heart die for Valentine’s cards paired with the mini messages. I will also make a card to send to my daughter studying abroad in Europe for a semester, inspired by your card, certain it will bring a heartfelt smile to her! In the process of ordering the “Hero Greetings Mini Messages” and the “One of a Kind Stamp & Cut.” Thanks again for the artistic inspiration!

Brenda C.,

Quick and easy ideas are always appreciated and I love how the tags look, so bright and cheerful!! That you for the inspiration!

Debby Willis,

Love the card idea and the tags! You are so clever and the card idea could be created using hearts , butterflies, mini tags, arrows, etc. and I know I have many tiny words scattered out through all my stamp sets. I’m thinking teen cards or masculine cards or “just for fun”cards. Thanks!

barbara lassiter,

Hi, Sally Just wanted to tell you that I learned to stamp from you when you owned Mostly Hearts in East Grand Rapids! I remember coming to your basement and struggling with stamping a clean image. And here I am many (too many to count) years later still loving this incredible hobby. The first stamps I ever bought (from you!) were Hero Arts. It’s still my favorite company (and I’m a My Monthly Hero subscriber)!

Robin Walker Keith,

I love the bright and happy card and tags!

Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial using the Snowflake Background Etched Dies from the Lisa Horton Snowflake Kisses Collection.
