Shimmering White for Christmas!

Hi friends! Emily Midgett here with you today with some icy inspiration using the beautiful Merry Foliage Bundle, paired with my newest obsession: Iridescent Blue Embossing Powder. This embossing powder looks stunning on its own, on white or colored cardstock, but it also works beautifully when embossed over colorful ink as I've done here to create this crisp, wintry holiday card. Let's get started with the details!

To start, I stamped the images from Merry Foliage onto white cardstock using Dusty Blue ink and my MISTI stamping tool. Keeping the cardstock and stamps in place, I stamped the images again using Embossing Ink and sprinkled the Iridescent Blue Embossing Powder over the top and heated it with my heat tool. The result is this exceptionally lovely, shimmering periwinkle color. The new iridescent powders have just a touch of sparkle and shimmer, so they create exceptionally beautiful effects and pick up the colors around them, making them super versatile!

After I heat embossed and die cut the Merry Foliage images, I used alcohol markers to add some lavender coloring to the images, adding light highlights to the images with the colorless blender marker.

For the background, I heat embossed the Style Moderne Bold Prints background onto some white cardstock with the Iridescent Blue Embossing Powder. It's so difficult to capture the sparkle and iridescent shimmer in a photograph; each angle looks a little bit different, adding a beautiful shining, tone-on-tone texture to the background. In order to add a little extra contrast to the background to allow my sentiment to stand out, as well as to allow the stamped pattern to be a bit more visible, I softly ink blended some more Dusty Blue ink in the center of the background.

To assemble my card, I die cut a Woodgrain Frame Infinity Dies from white cardstock and popped it up using dimensional foam adhesive. I arranged the colored flowers and greeting on the card front, adding the flowers with a single layer of foam adhesive and the sentiment with a double layer. The final touch was to add a few white enamel dots for one more element of texture!

Well, that's all for my project today! If you haven't tried the new iridescent powders, you are totally missing out! Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a marvelous day!
