Simple Shimmer Background

Hi crafty friends! It's Jeannie and today, I'm sharing a card where I created an easy but pretty background.

To create this card, I started with a piece of watercolor paper along with two colors of the Metallic Sprays: Blue + Shimmer Tone-on-Tone and Royal Purple + Gold Two-Tone. When you get these bottles, it's just the powder but all you do is add water and shake, shake, shake and you're ready to go! I went in with a few spritzes of each and then a few spritzes of water to move them around. Since I'm impatient, I went ahead and used a heat gun to dry this panel and you have a super fun background! I trimmed down a piece of Antique Ivory Cardstock to add to the bottom of my card panel.

Next, I stamped the images from the new Birthday Animals stamp set with Intens-ified Black ink and after coloring them with alcohol markers, I used the coordinating Birthday Animals die set to cut out the images with my Hero Arts Compact Cutter Machine. I did do some additional cutting because I thought it would be fun to have one of the ducklings lagging behind the group.

For my sentiments, I decided that I wanted to heat emboss using the Embossing & Watermark Clear Ink all of them from the Birthday Animals stamp set in Gold Embossing Powder to match the subtle bits of gold from the Royal Purple + Gold Two-Tone Metallic Spray used for my background panel.

These sprays are such a easy way to create a fun and colorful background with just a few spritzes!

I hope you enjoyed the card. Thank you for stopping by!

Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial using the Snowflake Background Etched Dies from the Lisa Horton Snowflake Kisses Collection.
