Soft Mother’s Day Card

One of my favorite things to do with detailed flower images is emboss them. It seems to be able to capture a little bit of that etherealness flowers have.

I stamped the hero_product_link sku="CL980" text="Happy Mother's Day"] flowers all over a piece of hero_product_link sku="PS619" text="light purple cardstock"] using Versamark, then heat embossed them with hero_product_link sku="PW118" text="White Satin Pearl embossing powder"]. This stuff looks so dreamy!

I then stamped the flowers again on vellum, and embossed again with the White Satin Pearl embossing powder. I adhered the hero_product_link sku="DI190" text="die cut flowers"] to my trimmed embossed panel using some Multi Medium Matte, adding the glue behind the center of the flowers, which I covered up with pearls. This glue works perfectly with the vellum, as it holds the flowers down firmly and dries matte, so it's hard to see behind the vellum (the pearls do a good job hiding anything that might show.)

I embossed the sentiment in hero_product_link sku="PW110" text="white"], then notched the corners with a mini hole punch I have - you could use a regular old hole puncher for this, or a circle punch. I adhered it to the base on top of some sparkly twine, and oila! Finished card! I plan on sending this to my sister-in-law, who's expecting. :)

Thanks so much for stopping in today and God bless!
