Sparkle Up Your Backgrounds

Hey everyone. It's Dana here with you today. Sparkle up your background with a Hero Arts Bold Prints stamp and embossing. I love adding just a touch of sparkle to a background. Have you seen the new Acanthus Bold Prints from this month's release? It's absolutely beautiful and it's a great way to make quick and easy cards.

Let's get into the card. I started out by stamping the Acanthus Bold Prints onto Dove White cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. Next it was time to add the sparkle. For color and sparkle, I used the Black Sparkle Embossing Powder. The photos really do not give this powder justice. It is so sparkly in real life.

Now it was time to jazz things up just a bit. By using the Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies, I created a frame for my background by using three dies. One to cut out the center and two to make the frame. This is an easy way to create frames for your cards. Add strips of foam tape to pop up your frame for dimension.

For a sentiment, use the Friend Word Fancy Dies and the Compact Cutter. This die-cutting machine is a gem for these small die-cuts. The word dies are perfect for not covering up too much of a pretty background. Make those words stand out by stacking a few together in Dove White cardstock and add a drop shadow in Pitch Black (it's my FAVORITE black cardstock). By adding just a touch of color behind the white, it makes the words pop off the background.

So sparkle up your next Bold Prints stamp. Don't need sparkle for your card? Hero Arts has a TON of embossing powders for all of your needs. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.
