Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #14

Hi friends! We're back with another Stay Crafty With Hero challenge. This time, the theme is Critters. Make any sort of card or project you like, as long as it includes a critter! And any sort of critter will do, too. Have fun creating, and best of all, mail your card to someone special when you're done! We'll include all of the challenge details further down this post, but first, here's a fun critter card from Ilina!

Hello everyone! Ilina here! For my card I decided to pair up few products from the new 2020 Winter catalog. I used the Fawn and Friends stamp set and coordinating Frame Cuts, along with the Wagon and Accessories Fancy Die and sentiment from the Stocking Bouquet stamp set. I also used Cloudy Sky Scene Fancy Dies to create the skyline.

To make the card start with two pieces of Dove White cardstock measuring 4" x 5 1/4". Die cut one of them using the Cloudy Sky Scene Fancy Dies . Once die cut, use Blue Hawaii and Splash Reactive inks to create the sky/clouds. Splatter some watered down Unicorn White pigment ink (I usually smoosh some onto an acrylic blog and add few drop of water, then flick onto the cardstock), water and White Iridescent Shimmer Spray to create the look of snowfall. Set aside to dry completely.

Next stamp the critters using Intens-ified Black ink, color and die cut them. Die cut the wagon from Dove White cardstock and color the elements using alcohol markers. Stamp the sentiment onto Nautical cardstock and emboss using White embossing powder. Trim to size and set aside.

Mask off the top of the second Dove White piece of cardstock and lightly ink blend Dusty Blue Shadow ink on the bottom part. Remove the masking paper and spray the entire panel using White Iridescent Shimmer Spray. Let it dry.

Assemble all the elements onto the panel and adhere to a Nautical note card (4 1/4" x 11" piece of Nautical card stock scored at 5 1/2").

Thank you so much for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you create!

Now it's your turn - we'd absolutely love for you to join us! We want to encourage you to actually sit down and enjoy the process of creating. We know it is a source of fun, relaxation and stress relief - something we all can use a bit more of right now. Create a new card for this challenge with the theme Critters. Use the Inlinkz tool at the very bottom of this post to link up your card, and you will be entered into our drawing. We will be giving a $35 gift certificate randomly to one person who plays along! To link up your project, you need to share it publicly somewhere you can grab the link - this can be your blog, Instagram, a Flickr account - anything that allows you to have a URL or website location to link up.

We, of course, encourage you to use your favorite Hero Arts products. But any and all entries are eligible for consideration. We really care most about you bringing a little inky joy into your life. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, September 24th at 5:00pm PT to be eligible for the giveaway, and the winner will be announced when we announce our new challenge on Friday, September 25th. Scroll down below the product thumbnails to find the linkup! If you share your project on social media, we'd love if you'd use the #staycraftywithhero hashtag.

We've enjoyed looking through the entries to the previous challenge - Creativebug Inspiration. Thanks to everyone who created for the challenge, we hope you had fun watching some of the videos over at Creativebug! Our random winner is @gabycrafty on Instagram, who was inspired by Day 7 of the A Card a Day with Hero Arts Daily Practice!

Congratulations @gabycrafty! Email us at info@heroarts.com with "Stay Crafty Challenge Winner" in the subject to claim your prize.

Here's to connection, creativity, inspiration, and kindness. ❤

Thank you for another fun challenge and DT inspiration!

Cynthia O.,

I accidentally added the same like twice (48 and 52). How do I remove it?

Sathsara Egalahewa,

Happy Dance to the winner – lovely card for inspiration for the Critter challenge

Gail Scott,

I adore this critter card. I love dogs of all kinds, but since I live in the country, I am beginning to appreciate other animal species. Love the dog and cat in the wagon. The wagon stamp and dies are one of my favorites from your winter catalog which I received in the mail just a few days ago. Thank you for the great products.

Debra Ranta,

I have 2 rescue dogs so I like the Critter theme. Saw that you indicate that Hero Arts item not necessary to be elegible.

Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial using the Snowflake Background Etched Dies from the Lisa Horton Snowflake Kisses Collection.
