Fall Minis

Today guest artist Debi Adams is back on the blog and treating us to four Fall cards created with the Thanksgiving Mini Tub! The tub includes 12 small woodblock stamps, embellishments, and even an ink cube -- almost everything you need to get started making cute cards and other Thanksgiving decor. Place cards, anyone? Now here's Debi to tell us all about her projects...

Short and sweet, but big on design, these Hero Arts Thanksgiving Mini Tub stamps are perfect for the fall season. Stamped inside squares or cut into their own shape, the possibilities are endless.

I took advantage of the amazing Sugar and Spice Bold Prints stamp to create a colorful background using different inks from the Thanksgiving Letters Layering Ink Cubes. I stamped and colored four of the Thanksgiving Mini Tub stamps, cut them into squares and adhered them to the background using foam dots. The center was simply a turned squared with the sentiment stamped in Unicorn White Ink onto black cardstock. All were adhered to a card base measuring 3” x 3 1/2”.

What better reminder of the season than candy corn! I cut, arranged and adhered three strips of Sunshine Mix Layering Papers to fit onto a 3” x 3 1/2“ card. A strip of white cardstock, 1” x 3 1/2”, created a great border for the card. I stamped the acorn into the Pumpkin Pie ink from the Thanksgiving Letters Layering Ink Cubes and then while still wet, I rolled the edges into the Cup O’ Joe ink and stamped several of them onto the strip. When filled, I attached the strip to the card and topped it off with a stamped and foam-dot raised, sentiment.

Stamping the Sugar and Spice Bold Prints stamp onto kraft-colored cardstock using Cup O’ Joe Midtone Shadow Ink, made up this tone on tone background. I cut it to fit just inside the card (3’” x 2 1/2”). Using a 2 “ x 2” square piece of white cardstock, I inked up the center using a Sponge Dauber and Moss ink from the Thanksgiving Letters Layering Ink Cubes. Going from light to dark, the four oak leaves were rolled into varying shades of the Thanksgiving inks and stamped into the center square. The acorns were stamped in the same manner onto a separate piece of cardstock, cut out and adhered to the square using adhesive and foam dots. It was then placed onto the patterned cardstock using foam dots and the sentiment was stamped and attached.

A small strip of patterned paper, created by using the Sugar and Spice Bold Prints stamp, formed a border for card number four. I stamped three images, cut them into squares, attached them to the card with foam dots and added the sentiment. Not just for cardmaking, this would make a great name card for a Thanksgiving table!

Honestly, I loved how one container of art could create so many different styles. Can’t wait to play some more!
