Hero Arts 2017 Catalog

Our Creative Team member Jayne Nelson has created a project to share with you. At the end of the post we have details on a fun blog hop to inspire you featuring our Creative Team and some wonderful guest artists! And of course a chance to enter our giveaway!

Jayne: I really like using floral images to create feminine cards for spring birthdays. The beautiful, new Color Layering Fuchsia set is perfect for making colorful cards with striking and exotic flowers. In addition, the new Birthday Messages set is full of wonderful sentiments that pair perfectly with these lovely blossoms.

For my first card, I tinted some white embossing paste with pink ink and then I used the new Honeycomb Stencil to partially stencil a piece of white cardstock. I love the versatility of this stencil, it’s my new favorite! I stamped a sentiment from the Birthday Messages set onto a circle tag with Moss and Orchid inks. Then, I wrapped the stenciled panel with a strip of vellum and some purple cording, tying the tag to the panel with a small bow. I stamped several fuchsia stems with Moss and Pine inks, and a collection of fuchsia blooms with Soft Pink, Orchid, Ultra Pink and Raspberry Jam. I used the coordinating Color Layering Fuchsia Frame Cuts to quickly cut out all of the images and then I secured the flowers to the card with adhesive dots.

For my second card, I applied a wash of pink and purple watercolors onto a piece of watercolor paper. Once again, I wrapped the panel with vellum and cording, but this time, I embossed the sentiment onto a circle of green cardstock. I added a stem of delicate, cascading fuchsia flowers along the card’s upper edge. Then, for a finishing touch, I scattered a few purple gemstones onto both cards.
