Tone on Tone Embossed Backgrounds

Good morning! Jess here with a card combining one of my all-time favorite Hero Arts sets with a cute add-on set from our most recent My Monthly Hero Kit: #1 Winner Stamp & Cut!

I love Luna the Halloween Cat and thought the cat silhouettes would be a subtle but interesting backdrop for my ribbon! I stamped the cats onto Cerulean Layering Paper from the Sea Mix set and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. In the empty spaces I stamped the word 'pet' from the #1 Winner Stamp & Cut set and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed that down to a 4" by 5.25" panel and adhered it to a Snow Folded Card.

The #1 Winner Stamp & Cut comes with a die that creates a textured winner's ribbon. I die-cut mine from dark navy cardstock and blue glitter paper to resemble a first place ribbon. Then I stamped the sentiment onto the center circle with Versamark and heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder. You don't need to use as many layers as I did for your card but I liked the extra dimension I achieved by mixing the regular cardstock with the glitter paper. I used a removable glue dot to adhere it to my card so that it could be removed. ;)

We recently got a new puppy and I thought it would be cute to have him model my finished ribbon! :) You could make ribbons for your grandchildren, or for a sports event...Mother's Day or Father's day cards...lots of fun possibilities!! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

Lovely card Jess, I like the tone on tone heat embossing, but I am not into cats…..therefore I love the way you ended your post with the picture of your gorgeous new puppy what a cutie!
