I can't believe that Christmas is almost a month away. If you are like me, you haven't finished your Christmas cards. I always think there is time, and then I realize Christmas is month away and most of my family lives in Europe, so cards take forever to get there.
Today I am exploring different looks of white on black backgrounds using the Christmas Poster background stamp . I love the dramatic look of white on black. But if you are not really into that dramatic look, you may chose different option, like using White dye ink or Unicorn pigment ink , depending on the results you like to achieve.

For my cards I started by stamping the background onto Black Layering paper ( Midnight Mixed Layering papers) . For the first one I stamped the background with Versamark ink then embossed with White embossing powder. The second one was stamped with White dye ink , and the third with Unicorn pigment ink . The white embossing powder gives the high contrast and dramatic look, which I personally like. The background stamped with the white dye ink is very subtle and makes the focal point (Santa) really pop. While the one stamped with the Unicorn pigment ink is the happy medium between the dramatic and subtle look.
After I was done with the backgrounds I trimmed them to 3 3/4" x 5" and set them aside.
I stamped few of the Santa Faces on white card stock using Intense Black ink and colored them with Chameleon Pens and Color Tops. I used a micro tip applicator (usually used for make up stuff) to apply Versamark ink on parts of the hats and embossed with Sparkle embossing powder. Then I cut the Santas out. Next, I die cut circles from Snow Layering paper using the Circle Infinity Dies to layer the Santas on. I cut strip of Blush layering paper (darkest hue) and stamped the message from Off-Beat Holiday messages using Versamark ink and embossed with White Embossing powder.
I moved onto assembling my cards, I adhered the black background onto Blush note card using fun foam to add some dimension. Then adhered the circle, and Santa using foam tape along with the little strip with the sentiment. I added some red Nuvo drops on couple of them and pearls from the Neutral Mixed Accents pack.

Still learning about stamping, coloring, ideas. Thank you, so much for this little lesson. Have my Christmas cards done so may try this for the Great-Grandsons Easter Card or something.
