Video: Easy Birthday Balloon Shaker Card

Hi, everyone! This is Caly Person and I’m thrilled to be here as a guest, sharing a project using the May My Monthly Super Hero Kit ! I’m a huge fan of shaker cards and love making them! This kit has a beautiful collection of colored cardstock and it really inspired me to make a fun and colorful card.

To see the project come together, check out the full video tutorial HERE .

To make my card, I used Cotton Candy ink to stamp Birthday Icons all over a piece of Blush cardstock. I choose to stick to one color to keep it all a bit more muted since I want the pops of color to come from my balloon and confetti.

For my shaker, I used the confetti dies from the Big Balloon Shaker Die Set and die-cut my own confetti using the cardstock from the kit using the following colors:

  • Blush
  • Tutu
  • Chiffon
  • Coral
  • Beewax
  • Waterfall

From this, I also die-cut the letters HBD using the A Train Alpha Die Set and a set of colorful tassels from the Big Balloon Shaker Die Set.

I die-cut several balloon frames to glue and stack them for height to create a shaker well, which I filled with the colorful confetti I die-cut in addition to some clear confetti. The balloon shaker and balloon string are both cut from glitter silver cardstock for added shimmer. Once the balloon shaker is glued onto the card, I stacked my HBD words over glitter cardstock and offset them as a shadow. This not only gives the letters a “shadow,” but also coordinates well with the balloon shaker frame.

To finish my card, I simply stamped a sentiment from the Make a Wish Stamp & Cut set in black in the open area at the bottom of my card.

I hope you enjoyed this project! Thanks so much for spending some time with me today!
