Today's card is a simple one, but involves something a little unique - water! Not just for the watercoloring, but as part of the card's design! Here's how I did it.
I started off by taking the jar from the hero_product_link sku="CL960" text="Let's Get Fresh"] set and stamping it onto my watercolor cardstock panel. Instead of inking the entire image and stamping on the cardstock, I "shrunk" my jar, by doing some partial inking. First I inked up the top of the jar and stamped; then I cleaned my image, inked up part of the bottom half, and stamped that right below the top of the jar I had stamped. This is a great way to stretch your stamps!
I then cut the jar out of the cardstock, and then stamped, hero_product_link sku="PW100" text="heat embossed in gold"], the gorgeous hero_product_link sku="K6136" text="Antique Rose Stem"]. I colored it with some ZIG Clean Color markers, topped it off with hero_product_link sku="CH214" text="some gems"], and my front panel was ready to go.
I then stamped my jar again, "shrinking" it again, onto another piece of cardstock, in the pretty hero_product_link sku="AF337" text="Orchid hybrid ink"], to go behind the cutout jar. I adhered this panel, along with some glitter tape, onto the card base.
For the water in the vase, I took a thicker zip-top bag (the kind handmade jewelry artists tend to use), filled it up partially with water, and then zipped it up tight. I placed it behind my front panel and on top of my stamped jar to figure out exactly where it needed to be, then flipped over the front panel and placed dimensional foam adhesive on the sides and bottom. Once this was adhered to the base, I was able to slip the packet of water in, and close off the panel with some more dimensional adhesive at the top. So easy, yet so fun!
For my sentiment, I stamped, heat embossed and die cut a label from hero_product_link sku="DC180" text="Kelly's Label Stamp and Cut"], then stamped and hero_product_link sku="PW110" text="heat embossed"] a sentiment from the ever versatile hero_product_link sku="DC150" text="Happy Stamp and Cut"]. I colored the label in like I did with the flowers, adhered it to the card, and that finished it off!
