Yes Toucan! - Hero Arts

Yes Toucan!

We are feeling a bit tropical in Texas these days, with record temperatures! We had the hottest June in recorded history where I live and July has been even worse, so this month's release theme felt just right. I actually wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see a toucan fly by at this point!

When I saw this beautiful new Large Toucan Bold Prints stamp, I knew just what I wanted to do – Zentangle! I got out my black pen and started adding details to both the bird and the flowers and leaves.

Then I flipped the normal toucan script, and instead of making that beautiful bird the color focus, I stamped the image again on masking paper and cut out the bird and the moon, cutting into the moon with that large tropical leaf. Then I ink blended the background with a rainbow of inks: Crimson, Tangerine, Lemon Yellow, Green Apple, Summer Sky and Grape Juice with my Hero Arts Medium Blending Brushes.

Look how much room you have for doodling even on the smaller flowers:

Just pop that panel onto a crisp white card base and it's ready for any occasion. One of my favorite things about these scenic Bold Prints is the fact that you don't need a sentiment – they create such beautiful cards for anything you'd like to send.

I hope you have time to get creative this week – it's so important for your soul!

LOVE this! The stamp is gorgeous, and all the little details you added make this project extra special.

Amy Solovay,

Definitely is hot here in N TX. The Toucan bold colors are wonderful. Reminds me of the Parrots I saw in Maui Hawaii.

Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial using the Snowflake Background Etched Dies from the Lisa Horton Snowflake Kisses Collection.
