You Age Well

Like any other self-respecting card maker, I enjoy sending my friends and family some of the creations that I labored hours over. ;) However, I enjoy sending these labors of love even more when I have a quirky – or dare I say, cheesy? – sentiment to add to them.

The new Irreverent Birthday Messages (CM143) stamp set is perfect for those cheeky little phrases, and for making quick – uh, I mean, super time-intensive – cards.

I only used two inks pads for this – the Versamark to emboss my sentiment, and then Ombre Butter Bar to Orange Soda for my images!

For my cheese, I stamped it quickly and lazily in lots of rows, working my way from the darkest strip of ink in the ombre pad, to the middle, and then the lightest, for the top of the card. I didn’t bother to clean in-between changing colors, since it helps with the whole ombre look…and it’s faster. ;)

TIP: using ombre ink pads is a great way to get beautifully coordinating colors quickly and easily.

The rest of the card was a cinch – I heat embossed the sentiments on black using white embossing powder, cut those out, and adhered them to my cheesy panel. I adhered the panel to a Sunshine card base, topped off with some pearls, and all done!

Make sure to take a closer look at some of the sentiments included in the new Irreverent Birthday Messages – not only are they funny, they’re perfect for guy cards!

The stamp set is part of the new 2017 Spring Catalog release, which is now shipping to retail stores and will be available in the Hero Arts store on February 14.

Thanks so much for stopping in today, and God bless!
