Today we're delighted to have Creative Team member Jayne Nelson here to share some fabulous "beyond the kit" ideas for a few of the add-ons.
This month’s add-ons are a collection of beautiful products for creating lovely butterfly and floral themed cards. Today, I’m sharing two cards that I made with the new Bolds Prints and background stamps.
My first card features the gorgeous Fluttering Butterflies Bold Prints background. I started by inking this stamp with the four Sunshine Palette ink cubes and then stamping it several times onto a panel of Dove White cardstock that I cut with a Nesting Rectangle Infinity Die . I secured the stamped panel to a white mat and then onto a Granite card base.
Next, using the same inks and a blending brush , I inked a piece of white cardstock that I cut into a circle mat with a Nesting Circle Infinity Die . Then, I stamped and die cut a butterfly with the Beautiful Butterflies Bundle and Intens-ified Black ink. Before securing it to the circle mat with foam tape, I used a Water Flow Brush to paint the image with the Sunshine Palette inks mixed with water. I also added a sentiment from the Monarch & Milkweed set, stamped and embossed onto a strip of Pitch Black cardstock with Clear Embossing ink and White Embossing Powder . I finished the card with a few Pink Enamel Dots that I scattered across the card.
My second card features the striking Abstract Butterfly Wing Background . After inking the stamp with Fruit Punch , Creamsicle and Lemon Drop inks, I stamped it onto a panel of white cardstock. Then, I stamped directly over the image with Clear Embossing ink and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder . Next, I applied black ink over the entire image with a blending brush, wiping away any excess black ink with a paper towel. I secured the completed panel to a Granite card base with Precision Glue .
To finish the card, I added a sentiment tag that I cut with a Tag Infinity Die . Stamped with a small message from the Morning Glory Messages set, I secured the tag to the card over angled strips of Canary and Granite cardstock. I also added a die cut butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies Bundle that I colored with colored pencils. For the last details, I tied black cording at the top of the tag and added three Neutral Enamel Dots for some extra shine.
